Edwin Briggeman graduated in 1990 at the Technical University in Delft, The Netherlands as Electro technical Engineer and started his professional career at Thales in the field of air defense systems where he held various positions ranging from Researcher, Sales Engineer to Project Manager.

In 1999 he moved to Kalmar Industries and gained further international experience working as a Project Manager for the crane division, in particular the ship-to-shore cranes, straddle carriers and crane refurbishments.

From 2003 he was Sales Manager for the after sales business and in 2006 he moved to South Africa to set-up Kalmar’s local subsidiary in Durban, after which he became the Managing Director.

Edwin also held a position as Director at Hiab (Pty) Ltd, a sister company specialized in truck mounted cranes, based in Johannesburg.

With his engineering background he holds a special interest in the intelligence and automation systems for container terminal equipment.
